Whether you’re just getting into healthier habits or you feel like you’ve tried every “latest and greatest” – don’t skimp on the most important player: your mind

Treat Yo Self

We ALL love a great meal and we (really) need it every now and again

Every Saturday night, Chad and I eat out and if we’re eating out, we’re eating good food. Just a few nights ago I had a cheeseburger and fries- it was great and I don’t regret anything. I didn’t gain five pounds. I’m still alive. I truly, truly believe you need a “cheat” meal. I hate to say cheat meal because  you’re not cheating, you’re REWARDING yourself for working hard and eating right for that entire week.

When you restrict yourself completely, you are setting yourself up for failure. Failure of that diet, of your discipline, and of your confidence. By allowing yourself one meal, of anything you want, once a week- you’re keeping your mind healthy.  I need that greasy, fattening meal because mentally, it makes me WANT to get back on track for the rest of the week. Your ‘diet’ needs to sustainable and timeless- ask yourself if you’re happy eating this way for the rest of your life. And if not, let yourself find what will.

Give your body what it needs, and occasionally what it wants
