The Perfect Peppermint Protein Shake

For most of the east, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! It’s been snowing for the last few days and I think we might actually get a white Christmas this year. And what better way to get into holiday spirit than peppermint everything?

I made a peppermint and dark chocolate fudge for a Christmas party over this past weekend and even Chad (anti-sugar everything) liked it. So I knew he would love a healthier, protein packed shake that tasted just the same. Waking up to a fresh sheet of snow and plenty more throughout the day, I felt a peppermint shake after our morning lift was not only acceptable – but completely necessary.

I love peppermint everything – my ice cream flavor of choice is mint chocolate chip every time. This shake has just the right amount of mint without it being over powering. And depending on your protein powder, it’s easy to make this just as goo as that mint chocolate chip ice cream!

The Perfect Peppermint Protein Shake

What You’ll Need • Whey protein powder (I used vanilla + chocolate), milk, one frozen banana, and candy mints or candy canes

Tip: I’ve found that a base of milk + a frozen banana is key to a delicious protein shake. The frozen banana in replace of ice, adds such a great flavor and texture – it will remind you of a Wendy’s frosty! And whatever extra’s you decide to put in will work perfectly every time!

*Chad and I usually make one big protein shake after we lift so pardon the amount of milk/protein in the pictures – I didn’t drink all of it myself! 

Just blend all of your ingredients together and enjoy! I garnished my shake with a few broken up pieces of peppermint, but it’s completely optional. I hope you love it!
